WelcomeWelcome to PalmLDS.com, the world's premier portal for Palm-based, LDS programs and reference material.
With the increasing popularity of MP3 audio files, I've added a new category for MP3 & Audio. The first application for that category is LDS Audio Browser, from Blue Mango Multimedia.
I've added a couple of new categories. The ever-requested LDS Hymns are now available as well as official Church documents for various readers. For PocketPC users, the Church has formatted many things for PocketPC readers.
Following is a brief commentary on the mission of Palmlds.Com. Thanks for visiting and best wishes!
Palm powered handhelds have proven
to be a great tool for people from many walks of life, including members
of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Who could ever have
imagined that one day we would be able to carry an entire set of scriptures,
plus other books, in a small device that easily fits in the palm of
our hands? This page is meant to assist members
to gain and retain knowledge and to organize their records using their Palm handheld devices.
Knowledge - Palm Powered devices have helped
members of the LDS Church throughout the world with one of the great tenents of the Church,
which is to gain knowledge.
"How long can rolling waters remain impure? What power shall stay the
heavens? As well might man stretch forth his puny arm to stop the Missouri
river in its decreed course, or to turn it up stream, as to hinder the
Almighty from pouring down knowledge from heaven upon the heads of the
Latter-day Saints." (D&C 121:33)
Organizing - Palm Powered handhelds also provide a means to organize and keep records.
"Organize yourselves; prepare every
needful thing; and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house
of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory,
a house of order, a house of God;" (D&C 88:119)
Character & Patriotism - The Boy Scouts of America is also an integral part of the youth activities of the Church and several
applications and documents are included. While not originating with
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Constitution of
the United States is revered by members of this church. Accordingly,
several founding documents are included here.
